After several years of C25k training with timeout from injuries and colds, I completed my first Parkrun on Saturday. My time was 35mins (5k) thanks to having 100+ to run alongside (I'm in the 65-70 age range). I was about half way through the pack. Now to keep turning up each Saturday for the run. I love the speedy online feedback as well. I would encourage everyone to search out their nearest event. It's free and you can walk if you wish. They have a delegated person to bring up the rear, so you will not run the risk of being last.
It's the fastest I've run for decades and take encouragement in that my legs ached no more than they would have after a normal run. Maybe the small hills that I'm forced to run each day have their benefits.

Congratulations on completing your first parkrun on Saturday in a very good time of 35 minutes, the person at the very back of the pack is called the Tailwalker, I have done that several times, if you wish to go to a parkrun every Saturday you can report back on the B210K forum on Damienair's weekly parkrun forum.
Congratulations! There’s a weekly parkrun thread over on Bridge to 10k where I’m sure you’ll get many more cheers! The latest one is here and they’re out every Saturday.
