Have you been over to the Strength & Flex Forum recently? If not you are in for a treat!

๐Ÿ’Our legendary ย ย Oldfloss has written a wonderful post about Relaxing ๐Ÿ˜Ž How about that as we approach the weekend!

๐Ÿ“ฆThe inimitable ย ย CBDB has challenged us to a very easy way to support our running & it begins with a 5min video session to strengthen our glutes!

My day started with this challenge of standing on one leg ๐Ÿคฃ Really!! My balance is way off so I stood beside a ๐Ÿช‘ & wonder of wonders managed to do the exercise in between laughing ๐Ÿ˜† at myself! I was grateful for the chair!

Outside wintry weather had come back in overnight with the full moon! ๐ŸŒ It was bitterly cold & the last thing I felt like was my Friday run. As I slowly & reluctantly headed out the door it felt all wrong! Oh my the inward moaning & outward groaning may have caused any passerby to think I was in pain! I didnโ€™t want to be doing this! As I warmed up and into the run as ever I was glad I had made the effort! Once past those first 10mins that my body needed to adjust it all felt much better.

Why do we do this? As I replied on another forum, it embraces so much of who we are as runners, how one run is never the same as another, how we have to overcome the mind games as well as the physicality of it all! Then come the rewards that keep us doing this amazing sport & make us so passionate about itโ€ฆ the runners high, the sharpened mind, the joy of proving something to ourselves, learning more about running and about ourselves. The afterglow is best of all! I love the reward of sitting with coffee & basking in the fact that the run is done โœ…

Love this... and thank you for the link:)

Balance is key... in so many parts of our lives!! My T'ai Chi is really helping Mr OF with his balance, and me too!

A super post and so much food for thought. I too ran yesterday, later and only a short run... it was not an easy run, but it was enjoyable and was tweaked to suit what the conditions were. i.e. raining and very, very cold air on the return journey.

For me, as for you, I feel, the joy is the thing . Thank you xxx
