Started back, using my old exercise bike. Personally I find the exercise bike the most boring form of exercise possible (5 mins on an exercise bike is a lifetime). So video or music involvement is essential and found this on YouTube.
I regularly do 1 hour rides on my indoor exercise bike, all at the same resistance and keeping my heart rate below a certain limit. I've done plenty of 75 and 90 minute rides and several 2 hour ones. However, I have it in front of the TV ... so plenty of choice and if you choose the right thing, 1 hour rides can go by very quickly.
I agree, it's essential to have a distraction, mines in the shed so no TV but I either listen to music, or watch something on my phone.Without it, static cycling can go by very slowly.
