exhaustion

I was pretty fit but wanted to loose another 5k. So I downloaded the couch to 5k. The first run was fine the second difficult the third was a killer.

Thinking I was coming down with something I stopped BUT my previous fitness hasn’t returned. Now I am out of breath even walking up the stairs.

Has anyone else had this?

If you are out of breath just walking up the stairs I think you should get yourself checked out by a doctor, wait and see what he says and don't run until after you have seen him, I hope it's not a serious issue.

I agree with  AlMorr . This something to seek real life medical help about. The level of exhaustion you’re experiencing is far beyond what’s expected when you’re starting couch to 5k. It’s worth having a check up to make sure there isn’t anything that’s causing it (like being anaemic) that can be sorted any allow you to pick up where you left off. Wishing you lots of luck getting to the bottom of this and the runs will be there when you’re ready.

🍏 I fully agree with both  AlMorr and  MissUnderstanding Once you have been given the all clear by your GP to run please do read the pinned post about how to run Couch to 5 K On the App itself is interesting information about strength and flex etc. All things that will help you in your running journey. The best tip is to run very slowly! If you get out of breath or can’t talk you are running too fast!

See GP, ASAP.

I saw mine and got "pre-authorised" before I started C25K. Don't take the risk.

I am very much not a fan of people all traipsing to the GP to get the OK to do C25K.

However, when a previously self described fit person finds their fitness suddenly reduced like this, they need to be seen by a doctor and they need to see one soon. Please explain to the surgery when you phone that you have new unexplained breathlessness going upstairs.

Do you have an oximeter at home to check your oxygen saturation and pulse?

I suspect that starting the plan and developing breathlessness on exertion are only connected by timing. I agree with GoogleMe you should talk to your GP.
