After the torrential rains it was dry at last. With my usual running gear in the wash I thought what better way to complete Couch than in my favourite football shirt. When I went out first thing it was damn cold with frost on the cars so I decided to layer up a bit.
Throughout the run I was controlled and steady and it turned out to be the easiest run out of the whole programme for me. As I was running at about a 4/10 effort my legs were fine and breathing easy.
I afforded myself some smiles with about 10 minutes to go as my mind wandered and thought of how difficult I found it running for 5 minutes and now, I'm going for over 2 miles. Just wow.
For the last few minutes for reasons unknown I just spread my arms out wide and started doing aeroplanes ✈️ . No idea why 🤣🤣. The early morning fishermen must have thought I was a bit of a weirdo 🤪.
So, I'm now sitting on my rock overlooking the Reservoir pondering the next part of my journey.
I need to have structure as I'm not someone who finds just going for a random run easy so I think I will start on one of the NRC programmes to build up fitness and stamina. I always enjoyed the NRC guided runs - especially with coach B.
Good luck everyone and happy running. 😊

🍏🙌🤩🌟 Congratulations!!! Every picture tells a story! Yours conveys the awesome feeling after a great graduation run! Loved the aeroplane arms!!! So well done!!!
NRC is a great choice and they have some fantastic guided runs covering all sorts of interesting subjects! Have a look at this post for Graduates too!
You look positively jubilant in your photo and rightly so too!
I treated myself to a Garmin watch, with that comes a coaching feature which will set out okays to take you 10k and half marathon distances. I haven't tried it but when/if I graduate I think that will be how I will stay motivated.
Thank you. From my personal experience previously I actually found the Garmin programmes to be a bit too challenging for me. I found the NRC guided run programmes were much better for me but it is all down to preference obviously. Some people love the Garmin programmes.
I just like the watch 🤣 although there are some features I really enjoy in the plans such as the cadence runs 👍
I've got a Garmin Forerunner 45 and I love the Garmin plans. My favourite so far is the 5k plan with Coach Greg. You can set a time for your plan to aim at. I have done 33mins 30mins and 28mins and completed all 3 plans, Really enjoyed them and its all done on the watch so I don't need to carry a phone. I haven't done NRC but some of my friends really like it, so I may try NRC but am also thinking about the Garmin 10km hmmmm choices choices. I do love the Garmin ones as you can set realistic targets and really enjoy the way its designed....Have fun either way!!!!!!.
