Week 1 Run 1

I've completed the program twice (2010 and 2019) before gaining weight and falling off running. I'm back in better shape since 2022, having lost about 70 lbs, bringing me down to 285-ish back in January, where I've maintained since then. I hope to lose more, but it's just not been a priority due to life being crazy.

Anyway, I finally found the motivation to start again, and did my first run yesterday morning. I'm happy to say that this is the easiest I've ever had for W1D1, though my upper leg muscles are a bit sore today. That'll pass.

Looking forward to getting back out there tomorrow morning.

Thanks! I definitely do keep it slow, not pushing for speed, just jogging for the whole intervals.

Don't forget your rest (no run) days. Remember its the journey not the destination. At 76 I have racked up a few injuries and they were mostly caused by not taking the recovery time. As a good rule I leave one day between runs maybe more depending if its over 5k. Good luck and keep running.

Yeah, I'm spacing it out. Run 1 - day off - run 2 - day off - run 3 - two days off.

If I wind up feeling too sore, I'll give myself extra rest time.
