Slowly but surely ticking off "States I have run in" :)Ohio is the latest one, and like the others I now have a memorable occurrence to look back on :)

Running certainly adds a very interesting aspect to new places πŸ™‚πŸ‘πŸ»

Well that’s a bit of a teaser post! Don’t we get to learn what made it memorable? Or maybe see a photo?

No photos - but Google "Cornhenge Dublin" πŸ™‚Was wondering what the heck it symbolised for the rest of the run. The answer was a bit more mundane than in my imagination πŸ˜‚

It’s odd and interesting to see what people feel is worth commemorating in sculpture. Funnily enough, I’m currently reading an entertaining (really!) book that a friend, Vic Allen, has written, about public sculpture in Yorkshire.. it would be a good project to visit and run by all those featured. I’m pretty sure I won’t make it to Ohio though..😊

I see that it's really NOT "grim up North" Peggy :) Hopefully I might get to see some of those some day :)

It does, John. I ran in Cumbria yesterday and I'm now in Scotland (home of my birth), planning to run here over the next few days πŸ™‚

Fabulous Irish-John …I love running in different places too 😎

Walking is fine - but you cover relatively little ground, and it isn't as conducive to going through areas that look a bit sketchy πŸ™‚ I'm finding I am much more motivated to "explore" around wherever I stop for the night πŸ™‚

That's great to travel lots and run in different states

I love it πŸ™‚ The old conundrum though when it comes to travel however - "When you have the time you don't have the money, and when you're making the money you don't have the time!" Lol.Hoping though to add a new COUNTRY to the list soon - running in the UK if all goes well πŸ™‚

You are exactly right about time and money. Ooo UK running would be very different for you 😊

Colder in summer and warmer in winter lol πŸ™‚

Have you tried a US parkrun yet? There are quite a few, with new ones starting regularly. Running in different places is always gun and motivating.

I actually tried to get one started where I'm based, but no such luck. I really wish there were some within reasonable distance ☹️

It’s nice to see you back running and posting. I read the posts here but post less often.

It's always good to see your posts Lady L πŸ™‚I'm not posting a lot these days myself - went back to the world of work, so mostly short runs in old territory and nothing much new to add :)

I am, however, really looking forward to the "Defeat of Jesse James Day" race next month πŸ™‚

🍏I agree… I have run in the UK, in Miami Florida, in Calgary Canada, in the Rocky Mountains Canada, in Hawaii, & in South Africa! All good, all different experiences. Heat, cold, snow, rain seaside, countryside, riverside, forest.. trainers are easy to pack & take anywhere πŸ₯³

Hi Irish-John, it's funny I will get out of bed to parkrun if I'm visiting somewhere whatever the weather, even with a hangover but at home will glance out the window and snuggle back down if the weather's iffy 🀣🀣🀣

Like my old Dad used to say,'Oh isn't it nice to get up early in the morning!...but nicer to stay in the bed" πŸ˜‚

Cannot imagine running with a hangover, at least not the skull- shattering, stomach-ripping, eyeballs-exploding ones I used to have...the good old days lol

They seem to be a bit tamer now, well the alcohol intake is a lot less these days and defo wouldn't run with one of those type of hangovers Irish-John 🀣🀣
