I completed last July and had been running 2-3 times each week.
I have very sore shins and haven’t run now for about 6 weeks - I’ve tried ice and rest but nothing seems to help.
Any further suggestions
Thanks

I had this (shinsplints) - what a killer! I saw a physio who did a massage and also noticed my foot arches were quite shallow. I’m not quite flat footed but I’m not far off. He advised me to see a podiatrist and get some supportive insoles. This was like a miracle fix.
In my case, each time my foot landed, my foot angled inwards slightly and put a tiny strain on the ligaments. The knock on effect of this was the shinsplints, but as I say a physio/podiatrist fixed it. The soles weren’t cheap (£180) but will last forever
oh that doesn’t sound good, how old are your shoes? Shin splints are usually the result of running on hard surfaces with poor support or cushioning in your shoes…..might be time for a bit of shopping and a new pair.
Go somewhere you can get a gait analysis - good sports/running shops usually provide it…..
Hope you get it sorted.

Your best bet is to see a sports physio to get to the root cause, and to help with exercises etc.Often, the problem will rest with your shoes, so take them along when you see the physio. It us likely the shoes are worn out, or not supporting you.
Best of luck, and hope you are back out running again soon.
