So I'm the wrong side of 40 and the wrong side of a healthy weight...just completed week 5 with the 20 min run and I actually enjoyed it a little bit! I was struggling in week 4 so slowed my pace slightly and that obviously worked for me. Feeling pleased with myself! I'm doing C25k on the treadmill but feeling like I may venture out soon.

Week 5 run 3
Hi Mollieben , welcome, and congratulations on your progress! You're absolutely right in keeping to a comfortable conversational pace, it will serve you much better than pushing yourself.
If you haven't already done so, please do have a look at the How to run C25K guide. It has lots of tips, many of which still apply even when you've been running for a few years: healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
After the triumph of W5R3, W6R1 can sometimes catch people out, so do take it as slowly as you need 😀
Also, when you venture outside, don't be surprised if your running feels different - you'll be taking into account terrain and climate in a way that you won't on a treadmill. Personally I love running outside and have never run on a treadmill, but many people do. You have to do what's right for you.
Finally - you're not the wrong side of 40! 😜 You potentially have many decades ahead of you to run, so enjoy yourself!
Most folks focus on the long run at the end of Week 5 and totally miss the big increase in running time in Week 4. Well done!
excellent / well done ! I’ve tried indoor and outdoor runs and I’m sure you’ll find out which you prefer. The last, incredible week to go. Keep doing what you’ve been doing and I look forward to reading your graduation post next week!
Am 43 and am just about to start week 7 . I felt really pleased when I ran for 25mins, I do my training on the treadmill, would love to venture out but my back might not agree lol. Also when I come off the treadmill my face is red a tomato. Keep up the good work
