Hi Andy6659 , MissUnderstanding has pointed you in the right direction for the Marathon forum.

While you're very welcome over there, I gather you graduated C25K just a fortnight ago, so I'd imagine you're still consolidating. Once that's done, you might like to take a look at the Bridge to 10k forum linked by CBDB to start your journey to longer distances. There's lots of advice and support there to get you to 10k, an essential step on the way to HM and beyond!

Absolutely agree with this.

Whilst it's theoretically possible to go from 5km to 21.1km in about four months, I'd suggest taking longer about it. I took about a year as I had a few periods where I backed off to avoid injury.

And the next logical milestone after 5km is 10km.

Going towards even longer distances takes more careful, structured training.

Just popping back to add my endorsement what to   Cmoi and   nowster have said.   Andy6659 had a thread about this a couple of weeks ago with a lot of advice about not pushing too far too fast, especially with knee issues. He decided against an April half marathon in favour of aiming for October but taking it slow and focussing on 10k first. I’m assuming that’s still the situation?

Thanks for sharing the full range links   CBDB . Not enough people are aware of the full range of what’s on offer here!

Great. Hopefully you’re consolidating now and going slowly and sensibly. Take it one step at a time. There’s no rush.
