Starting again

It’s been 3 years since I completed C25K and it was one on my greatest achievements as a non runner. After life got back to normal I found myself dragged back into outrageous working hours and terrible habits, running for the first thing to be stopped.

I’ve put nearly 3 stone in weight back on and been suffering for anxiety and depression for nearly a year and it got to the point I needed to do something.

Some soul searching over the break and I’ve decided to sell my business and get back to working normal hours and introduce running back into my life so here I am looking for more support as I start C25K again.

Any tips doing it 2nd time over ?

Hello and welcome back to your adventures in running! My advice would be to take it slow and steady, you’ve done it before and you can do it again. You will amaze yourself all over again with your progress over the weeks, just remember that each run is a gentle run, where you can speak whole sentences, not a race. Keep checking in with the forum for excellent support and encouragement and all the very best, happy runnings 🏃🏻‍♀️

Welcome back!

Have a refresher read of the FAQ: healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

As already said, don't go silly with trying to run fast, thinking you can go at the pace you might have done in the past.

Best of luck! 👍

Big decisions which sound really positive! I think you'll find that running comes more naturally this time around and you'll know what to expect.I re-did cto5k earlier in 2022 after a bit of a gap of a few months and it felt quite natural to be running again.

I wish you good luck, and I really hope it helps with the stress in particular.

The muscle memory never completely disappears and this time round you kind of know what to expect.

It won’t be easy but it’s much less challenging second time round. Enjoy Laura’s gentle coaching!
