Welcome ! This could be one of the best things that you have ever done...Well done!

Many of us felt that those first runs were very very hard... !

Please do read the essential advice for all our new runners...

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Loads of great advice there, loads of support here, so do keep posting your runs and sharing your experiences. You will find that , come January 1st, there will be a whole load of new runners joining you!

Slow and steady... on you go!

Welcome to the forum and the program! And very well done on starting .

That's probably the hardest part .

Do have a good read of the program guide posted by Oldfloss .

It's full or really helpful information to help you through the program.

Keep all the runs slow, stay well hydrated , do the after run stretches.

Most of all enjoy the journey!

Well done Smasher1352 😊. You’ve started something amazing! Best of luck with your next run.

Welcome to C25K and this amazingly supportive community. I have been running for almost 6 years now and still remember the faltering first steps. But running has changed many lives and if you stick with it, it may well change yours.

Good luck!

Absolutely! I remember my first attempts at Couch to 5K in Spring 2020 and how unfit I realised I actually was at the time.

You’ll get there! It’s amazing looking back from the end of the program and remembering how you felt at the beginning. If you can, make a few short notes about each run. When you read it back, you’ll be so proud of the progress you’ve made.

Keep it steady, keep going and you’ll soon be where you want to be. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

it’s hard to begin with and you think you’ll never jog longer than 1min at a time but you’ll surprise yourself! Good luck and enjoy

Well done, that’s the hardest part of the program - getting out there for the first run. 👏🏻 you will be amazed at how your fitness levels will increase on this amazing program though, enjoy and take your time, try not to run too fast either, keep it nice and slow.

I'm 53 and have never run before. I started Couch to 5k in September and repeated most runs, had time off for Covid and a small operation and am now on week 8 and running 28 minutes! You will do it. My advice is good trainers, music and try to vary where you run in any one session (don't do 5 loops of the park .. you get bored). Also, the stretching video is essential!
