I’m using the postings on the forum to really help me get out and run….. and it is working!

I did a decent run on Friday and then one earlier this morning. Both were around 22-24 minutes and with a 5 minute ‘warm down’ at the end I managed 2..4 miles in 29 (plus some seconds!) minutes today. Throughout I kept remembering the advice - ‘enjoy the scenery along the way’, ‘don’t make a big thing in your head that it is difficult’, ‘keep it slow and steady’, ‘you can do it!’….. this helped me a lot.

I’m now away for a break in Cornwall until Friday - first real break this year - but will try for several brisk walks over the next days. Happy stepping and thanks for the encouragement 😁

Fantastic! Remember that ANY run you do counts as a decent run! Sometimes that might be shorter in time or distance. The main thing is to keep going consistently.

Keep posting-it’s always lovely to hear from a fellow runner finding their groove. Have a fantastic time away. Dare I suggest you take your running kit “just in case”?

Yes I do fall into the trap of always thinking I should do a run of the same length or longer, sigh!

Oh and I have packed my running stuff!

sometimes it’s even more motivating when the scenery is new. Enjoy your holiday runs.

Good run for you today Oldlady64, I am glad that you find this forum very helpful, 24 minutes is a nice time for running, 😀

Enjoy your break in Cornwall, perhaps you maybe able to go for a short run while there. 😊 🏃🏾
