Well I've done it but was at a pace not much faster than I consider a fast walk at the start

But I've done it !!!

Think part of its a mental block as was thinking I can't do this at 5 mins when I knew I'd done 8 mins 2 days ago

thanks for the advise so far

Excellent news! Steady is the right pace…well done for not going too fast. That’s a great skill to have.

Congratulations on completing another run. It’s extra sweet when you’ve doubted whether you can make it or not. Keep at it! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️ 🏃‍♀️

A big congratulations to you Ardenk on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K and at a nice steady but not too fast a pace as well.

Onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran 🏃🏾

Well done Ardenk ! You don't need to worry about going slow, that's actually good, much better than setting off too fast and burning out.

Don't forget about the "Toxic ten" at the start of the run, when the can't-do-this gremlins like to make their voices heard - healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Keep telling yourself you can do this - because you can. Enjoy continuing your C25K journey!

That’s exactly the way to do it! And should be taken on board by all those worrying about 5:3 (as I did). Great achievement 👍

Great, I think you can call yourself a runner now. Some people with long legs walk faster than me too, but the act of running is not the same as walking even at the same pace. It's more active and your heart rate is elevated and you will feel warmer. Don't worry about speed, time spent in the act of running however slow is the key to the programme not the distance covered. You are well on track to completing thirty minutes. Try and finish at the same pace you start, so you feel able to run on a bit, ie fuel left in the tank. Don't run to exhaustion, that's not the point. Do read the links the mentors provide they are very helpful, I also found the extra warm up exercise stretch video on C25K site very helpful at this point before I did the usual warm up walk.

you can run faster than your brisk walk?? You are awesome, I think at that point everyone could walk faster than we could run
