Not a good experience!

Doing C25k for a few years now. Starting again Week 1 on 2nd run. Up at 0630 . Left house 0655. Quite dark still. Did 5 minute walk OK but found jogging quite hard. At end of run didn't feel usual good feeling. My hands were freezing! Is it the fact I am 83 or because I missed out stretching at the beginning. I have hypothyroidism too??

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

This FAQ post expands on the theme. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Obviously age and medical conditions can also impact on the enjoyment of a run, but I think it unlikely that any of us can answer your questions.

If you browse through the other FAQ Posts healthunlocked.com/couchto5... you will find information on warming up, aging and running and many other topics that might help you identify your issues and avoid them recurring in future.

Prepare well, keep running and keep smiling.

Well a huge positive you were up so early, you got out there and had set a bar of expected achievement. But you will know not everything goes to plan. Take the positives. Perhaps slow is good, walk/brisk walk rather than jog. If its really a sign of something not right that's probably a discussion with your GP. From a 70 year old I hope I'm still able to have the passion and expectation of a run at 83!
