I completed my week 9 run 2 yesterday so I'm very close to finishing the programme. But I've noticed the last couple of weeks that my chest tends to feel tight hours after my run. It's not that uncomfortable and I still feel like I can breathe. It's definitely noticeable though and gives me the constant urge to cough, which I can mostly ignore, but lingers in the background. I used to be asthmatic as a teenager but I haven't used a pump in over 10 years.
Is this quite a common occurence for new runners? I know this isn't the place to seek medical advice but I really don't want to bother my GP if it's a normal thing to experience.

Sorry to hear you have been getting a tight chest in weeks 8 and 9. Could it be stress? I remember I became bizarrely stressed and self-delusional about not being able to complete the program on W9R2 - so close to the finish! I procrastinated for many extra days before R3. But then I bit the bullet, took it very easy and did it. Have you have been pushing the pace too hard? If you do an extra-slow run for 30 min you will graduate. That way you'll find out if a slower pace helps your tight chest, while you wait for the GP appointment.
