week 1 run 4 (not a typo!)

I’ve decided to do at least these early weeks a couple of times each - not because I doubt the programme (I know from past experience it works brilliantly), but to give my poor body a chance to adjust to what’s happening to it, and to make sure I’m not putting too much strain on it. So after a lovely relaxing bank holiday Monday, off I went, fluffy companion in tow.

The first run felt difficult - my legs were telling me all the ways this was just not a good idea, but I ignored their opinion and plodded on. And as I knew they would, things got easier, so by the last two runs I was actually feeling comfortable and relaxed (by my standards!).

I still don’t know how far I’m going to be able to progress, but I’m delighted that this is the third consecutive Monday I’ve gone for a run. So that’s a good start 😊

It's a great start, and sounds like a really sensible approach 🙂

I did this too on my second go round at the programme and I’m convinced it helped me to avoid injury! I actually think I repeated almost every week (except maybe the last 😅) … I’m very grateful I allowed myself and my body the time to adjust because now I love running. Here’s to your 4th consecutive Monday - enjoy! 🌞

Fabulous and well done you... just listening to your body. I am doing easy runs much of the time , currently, as I try and build back to full strength! Those legs do try and trick us... heavy as lead until they realise that they actually enjoy what they are doing!

One day at a time, slow and steady? x

Well done RainbowC. I’ve repeated more than a few runs and this week I feel the need to repeat at least a couple of runs from week 3!!! You are an inspiration RC! Keep listening to your body and stay safe xxxx

I've never had a problem with repeating runs - only injury was when I pushed myself too hard too quickly! I have my favourite weeks, with Laura, that I repeat just for fun :)
