What are peoples thoughts on running when u have mild cold symptoms? I will be going to work tomorrow so it's a cough and a bit of a high temperature that I have. I did a lateral flow and it isn't covid.
I am not sure if running will slow down recovery or aid it in the long term.

As others have said , don't run if it's interfering with your breathing !I tend not to run with a cold anyway as I simply don't enjoy it as I get bad sinus headaches, so not below the chin is not a good measure for me
Well... you have had the advice... only you know how you actually feel. If you are going to enjoy the run... fine.. if you feel under par... ? The run will wait and be all the sweeter for it
I’m down with a cold 4th day, i had to run around my apartment for 20 mins as it’s too hot to run outside where I live and I use a gym so I don’t want to pass on germs. It’s all from the neck upwards so at least I did 20 mins. Better than nothing but I’m itching to get out.
I wouldn't personally run with a fever. With Covid the symptoms often precede a positive lateral flow test by several days so a negative test doesn't rule it out. I'd err on the side of caution and rest until the fever has subsided at least.
This is precisely what happened to me. Had cold symptoms, tested daily because of caring responsibilities and -after about 5 days of negative LFTs - the ‘Rona!
Yep, we had the same here too. All four of us have now had it at different times and we each had 2-3 days of symptoms (sore throats/headaches/coughing and in some cases a fever) before the daily LF tests turned positive.
I'm no expert, but from my own experience, if it is just mild symptoms, running makes me feel better mentally. I feel that I am getting on with things and not just being submissive and letting the cold win.
Having said that, a couple of years ago I ran with what turned out to be the onset of 'flu. It wasn't a good idea.
So, in my opinion, if you are confident it os just a light cold.... go for it.
