Okay just about to go for this run. Feeling a bit anxious but keep saying it's only 5 more minutes.......

So what is the worst that can happen?

If you don't complete a run, then you repeat it, knowing that the first attempt will have made you stronger.

As pointed out in this FAQ Post about mental approach healthunlocked.com/couchto5... leaving your anxieties behind and running for fun will maximise the benefits, both physical and mental.

Relax and enjoy it.

It's amazing how your mind plays tricks isn't it? I'm always convinced I can't do it, but once I've started I'm usually ok.

I really hope you got out and gave this a go. I used to look ahead to the next week and think “hell no!” but I’ve given it a go and surprised myself every time. And been super proud of myself. If I’m finding it hard I try to be kind to myself, slow it down, and think about how far I’ve come. You’ve done so well to get this far. It’s a massive achievement.. If you find it hard, you can always redo an earlier run in the programme or repeat this as many times as you need. It’s not a race or a competition. Do this at your own pace. For you. And enjoy! Your only 9 runs away from the end once you run this 1! Don’t give up! You got this
