I hope you stopped the run ?

Achilles problems can soon escalate if ignored so do give time for recovery.

Once you are pain free then these excercises can help

Yes I had to. Gradual pain so not as bad I'm assuming. Slowly slowly catch a monkey. Thanks. 😁

It happened to me at about the same stage . Please don’t push it! I ended up in a surgical boot for three months having two thirds torn my Achilles mostly because I didn’t rest it. If it hurts, stop what you are doing until it doesn’t hurt - and get it checked out.

You might well have to start again, depending on the severity of your issue. Building up gently after an injury is just common sense, not some kind of defeat.

My only running injury was a tweaked Achilles, which required me to stop running for approximately a month and do regular eccentric heel drop on a step, on the advice of a physio.

Don't rush it, learn from it.

Take care.

It's not to bad, but definitely need to give it a while to recover. Hoping it's more calve than achilles. Just disappointed as a set back😔 on wards and upwards. 😁🤣

I did have a bit of an Achilles lump back in November/December. I eventually traced it back to the socks I was wearing.

You might want to check that nothing is rubbing you in that area.

If it becomes something painful rather than merely annoying, a trip to a medical professional (eg. a physio) would be advised.

I've been running with Achilles tendinitis since January. I think mine was brought on by the wrong sort of walking boots. I had it before I started my C25k journey.

The experts today don't always recommend rest for soft tissue injuries. They used to recommend RICE. Now it's something called Peace & Love (Google it 🙂)

I found that massage works better than heel drops or lifts. This technique from two American physiotherapists Bob and Brad worked for me.
