Hey fellow couchers πŸ‘‹. I hope this post finds you all safe and well and running with happy hearts. I'm still going strong with 5 post graduation runs under my belt. Still happy and still proud. Yes they are a bit variable but my race at my pace. Happy running dudes and dudettes.

No they are full on running only.

So no consolidation then ?

I do my warm ups and cool downs I just don't start my timer until I start running.

Remember consolidation runs are 30 minutes to build up strength and stamina but also resistance to injury .Running more

than this at this stage is risking injury

Thank you for reminding me. I walk a minimum of 50 miles a week normally and very good at listening to my body.

Overuse injuries can come out of the blue and can stop you for days, weeks or even months .There have been many here that ignore the advice of consolidation then end up on the injury couch regretting it . ... Walking does not make you imune from running injuries , it's a totally different activity.

I can only give you the advice , what you do with it is of course your choice .

However, as a rookie runner , if you insist on posting about 40 minute runs just after graduation then I will continue with the reminders that it is NOT recommended practice and can easily result in injury

Take care

Excellent! Looks like you’ve found a good routine! I’m still between two and three runs a week. Pleased that it’s been over a month since finishing and I’m still out there though.
