I can’t believe I’m still sticking with this. What has helped is reading all the stories of other determined people. It feels nice to be a part of some thing that’s not easy but achievable if you put your mind to it. Today for me, on run 6 ,I just didn’t have my normal oomph, I’ve been doing some long hours on my feet. What got me going was the sample kindness of two drivers who stoped the tragic so I could run across the road. Yes of course , I had to keep going then, didn’t want to let myself down and my oomph returned 😁.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

ah, all the little things in life that randomly happen and keep you pointed in the right direction!!

😊 ...but that needs to be added to your determination and grit that has kept you going even when the oomph fades!

I agree, it's not easy but achievable. At least I'm telling myself this as I get ready to head out the door for week 5, run 1.......

W5R1 was great!! Easier than I anticipated. Got into a nice sort of rhythm during the first bout of running, made sure to pace myself and then, just enjoyed it. I can't say it was 'easy' but it was definitely 'easier' than I expected. And the time also went by quicker than expected. Came home with a great feeling of accomplishment, knowing that if I push myself safely, I can do it. It really is a lot of mind over body. Are you running tomorrow?

Well done that’s amazing to get that feeling. Will you have a day of rest for one or two days? Are you booked in for a charity run in the future? My Brother who is younger than me runs and he loves the adrenaline rush he gets. Please god let that kick in soon 😂Yes I am after work about 4. Not an ideal time after being on my feet all day but I can’t bear the thought of doing it early in the morning.

I won't run again til thursday or friday. I work nights wed and thursday so I imagine it will be on Friday but it all depends on how the nights go and how I'm feeling on thursday when I wake up. no, i have no charity runs or parkruns planned....nothing like that in my little community. this C25k is just a challenge I set myself and i'll see how it goes after i finish. good luck with your run today.....check in if you can and let me know how it goes. not easy after working all day.....
