Day 2 after injury break

Good morning runners!

Just been out for a chilly and wet autumnal run and it felt great! Couple of km warm up walk, some strething...and away ... The first km was a little tough, the air was cold and my chest felt like it was on fire! I soon settled into a steady pace though.

I ran my home parkrun course, there were lots of friendly dog walkers and some not so friendly fellow runners but I tried to throw them all a smile and a cheery good morning as I went.

Music choice was pure 80s, a decade I've missed running to and have to admit to singing along and throwing in a few dance moves when I thought I was not being observed 🤣

The uphill sections were tough as I think my splits show 🤣 there not huge but they feel it when your out of shape 🤣

The thought to speed up and get under 28 mins did cross my mind but remained steady and finished in 28:31

I enjoyed the run which is the important thing and was pleased to complete the course, on only my second run back, without any pains.

Have a great day all 😁

Glad your able to get back out there running, like others have said, your pace for a come back is still very fast, i think i average 5k in about 38 mins 🤣Also good to hear work is picking up, even if it means a bit of working away, watch out for those southerners!!! 🤣
