Just keep going

I’m on week 8 of couch to 5k it’s been the hardest thing I have ever done. I dont know how I’ve got here. I have struggled through with a cold a cough. A viral infection which I had no bladder control when finishing on 3 of my jogs. Also the need to go to the toilet for a bowel movement on my last 3 jogs. All this on top of sore shins, sweating to death, gritting my teeth. Well I done it so far and I’m so proud of myself. I’m 52 and am over weight so if I can make it this far anyone surely can?? Keep going !!

Congratulations on getting to week 8 of C25K despite having some health issues, I am sure you will complete the course in the next couple of weeks, onwards and upwards 🏃🏾 👍.

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

It is often wiser to give your body a rest when unwell, rather than stress it by running, but congratulations on your determination.

Can you speak aloud, clear, ungasping sentences as you run?.........if not, you are going too fast.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Wow well done you for keeping at it with cough, cold and virus.I definitely feel your pain about the bowel movement, I find it extremely hard to keep my bum cheeks clenched and jog at the same time .😁
