Six months on

I turned 40 six months ago today (which is where the profile pic is from!), having started C25K a couple of days before. I’ve just run my third 10km (my fastest one yet) and I’ve knocked 5 mins off my 5km time since I graduated in June. I run three times a week without fail and, although I didn’t particularly have any weight to lose, I’m 5lbs lighter than when I started too (and my jeans are definitely looser!).

The programme has given me everything I hoped it would and more - just wanted to document my journey and I hope it might help others who are going through the programme now or thinking about getting started - you can do it :)

Not only have you lost weight and inches, but statistically you have reduced your risk of a whole host of conditions, simply by being fitter and exercising frequently.

C25K really does change lives for good.

I wish that I had discovered running at 40!!!

Keep running, keep smiling.

I'm also in my early 40's and I kept up with every 2nd day run since the start of c25k. I just graduated and I don't have to lose weight but I've been eating more in excuse of running 🤣 so I'm watching the scale carefully. I look fine from outside but I know I lack strength and stamina..big time. This running gave me a hope that I can have that! In the mean time I check in this community an post like yours really helps. Thanks for sharing.😊

I was the same, thin but not especially fit and really lacking strength and stamina! I did the Magic Plan to get me from 5km to 10km and that has really helped with the stamina piece, strength is still something I can get better at but I’m finding Yoga With Adrienne’s yoga for runners videos really good. Well done for getting this far and keep going!
