Today was my 2nd attempt, completed it successfully!! Had failure on Friday, gave in after 5 minutes of run.
Even today wasn’t easy, last 5 minutes were specially tough but did increase my speed for the last minute so happy about that average speed was also better than my week 5 day 3 run!
However I still have to battle my thoughts, 5 minutes in and the talk begins Interesting it is to know that body is more adaptable and flexible than mind. Looking forward to the time when I no longer have the mental resistance and run with pleasure

Great job… now, about Friday… you ran 5 minutes and not long ago that was impossible, so it cannot be failure now… just a practice, a change to the plan, a minor detour!
That little “you can’t” voice will never go forever… so we need to get the worlds best coach involved… that’s the voice you use that answers it with “watch me”.
If the average pace was higher than the 20 minute run, yep those last 5 minutes were going to be challenging… a tough run now lies defeated because you were ready for it. Your mind has adapted more than you may see at first… read it back… you’re mentally strong.
You got this now… enjoy week 7 and closing this out.
Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.
Thank you,, it indeed is :)On Friday I stopped because there was added mental resistance, I also thought I didn’t have proper meal, and had fast on Thursday. Will check out the post, thank you!
Well done. Don't see a 5 run as a failure. It all equals experience - and you got out there and tried again, and that is the way forward. So well done and keep going! 😀👍
