Welcome to the forum and well done on your decision.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Welcome. I just completed wk2 and am very pleased with myself. I also feel so much better generally after only 2 weeks of exercise! At 55 and 18 stone coming into this it was a bit daunting, but I now believe I can do it. Good luck!

Read the guides and read them again it’s all good advice. Take it at a slow pace and do the stretches. Still a novice myself but all the advice does work and help. Enjoy, and be warned it is addictive

👋 Hi! Am a newbie myself about to complete Week 1. Totally agree with what the guys say about reading the guide. I couldn’t understand why I felt it so hard after my first run, then I read the guide……. I was running too fast and picking my feet up weigh too high! 🙄 I now run really slow and exactly as the guide video explained and am so enjoying it. Well done for joining and keep us updated! 👏🏻 👏🏻

Hello Wendywoo71. Welcome to the forum. I find that the information offered here is very educational and helpful.Developing a fitness program is a great idea. I go to the gym five days a week. I also run five days. The fitter we stay the more likely we are to fight off colds, flus, and depression. I used to be a fitness instructor at a couple of gyms. I'm sure you're well aware that one must start slowly whether running or weight lifting. Good footwear is important.
