Half way through

Morning everyone, I just got in from my first run of week 5. It’s 4.30am and I go early so not to see or be seen by anyone! Anyone else do this? I can’t believe I have come this far as I previously led a very sedentary lifestyle. My husband swims and cycles, and would try to encourage me to be more active as he worried about my health. After changing job after 14 years and turning 51, I decided to make another change hence C25K. I am loving it which I never thought possible. I have found listening to music isn’t for me, so instead I listen to crime dramas downloaded from BBC sounds. Does anyone else prefer to run to something other than music?

Have a good day everyone😊

Congratulations on starting C25K, listen to whatever you want to, many runners listen to music, talk podcasts or just the sound of their own breath, the main thing is to enjoy the run.

Morning!I'm a 5.30am runner. Just finished week 6... running is not new to me but I've definitely been an inconsistent runner.

I also can't listen to music when I run, I listen to audio books or just the sound of the dawn chorus. You are definitely not alone in that

😁

Morning! I love the early morning runs like you I preferred not to be seen at the start of my running journey, now I couldn’t care less 🏃‍♀️😂I love a podcast just getting to the end of Alan Carr’s life’s a beach often forget I’m actually running laughing my way round like a fool.

I am also a 5.30am runner for the same reason. I have never run before and at almost 71 enjoying it albeit overweight and looking like a flagging steam train. I am no techi so can just about listen to Laura dont know how to listen to anything else lol. Well done you

Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress.

I prefer to have nothing in my ears but the sounds of my environment.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I do exactly the same 😀- run early in the morning as I am also 51 haven’t exercised in years and want to do c25k just for me - I only listen to music though - my first week 5 run is tomorrow and I love the feeling each time I complete a run

Huge well done you.... many of us run to music, audio books or simply listen to the sound of the world:)Running early is great, I absolutely love it, all times of the year!

But never worry about folk who see you...they are wishing they were you! I used to be the original Grey Snail... when I first ran in the winter of 2015... not any more... out there, simply enjoying, and wearing the brightest funkiest stuff I am able to find . ( I am 71 by the way :)

You are doing wonderfully, be proud :)
