Hang on a sec… zoom out?

Looking forward through the program and zooming out from the dreaded 5 minutes here, 8 minutes here…. 20 minutes!!! Am I right in thinking that C25K is less daunting when looking at the bigger picture??

20 minutes of exercise weeks 1 & 2. Just 18 minutes for week 3. Then 21.5 minutes week 4. Drop back to 21/20 for week 5 then a gradual increase to 30 minutes to week 9.

Eureka!

The total exercise time only ever increases by 10 minutes in 9 weeks! By keeping the brisk walk brisk all we do is close the gaps and build the muscle!

Analysis over. (I’m clearly on a rest day, eager for tomorrow.) Ha!

That's a pretty succinct analysis of the programme, but don't discount your brisk warmup and cooldown walks, as they are a crucial part of the plan.

This breakdown of W5 gives a slightly more detailed focus on that part of the programme and illustrates the processes behind it all. healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
