Lifting knees as you run?

Following Laura's advice on the podcast to keep your head moving horizontally (not bouncing up and down), I barely lift my feet off the ground when I run. But I recently read that you should lift your knees up as you run. Does anyone have any advice about that?

You run, your way... lift your feet lightly, rounding those ankles , try to land lightly , ( I call it kissing the ground with your feet), and simply enjoy. Not bouncing up and down is what you are aiming for and you have got that :) Making the most of your energy and running in an efficient way...:)

There is a difference between barely lifting your feet and not lifting them.. when running a year or so ago, in a long race...I ran close to someone who was not lifting his feet and he shuffled along and you could hear it... But, we are all different, and as long as we are running, that is all that is important!

Thank you Oldfloss. I like the idea of kissing the ground with my feet! I'll think of that next time.
