Week 6 Run 1

Sunday 7th June 2021

This was a slightly different run for me

I worked out 5 mins walk plus 5 min run puts me at a road. I was then able to cross and run my 8 mins in a slightly different area. I had been in this area before as it is the road which has a slight incline to go over an a road. I found by bending my knees I could just about climb up and over.

On my earlier run this was close to a break point but on this run I still had 2 and a half mins to go with Laura telling me this should be simple now.

It didn't feel as simple as I thought it was going to be with walk breaks back in and maybe due to the different geography or maybe that was just in my head but more people this side so I had to overtake a few times which was unfamiliar and slightly uncomfortable as I found myself quickening my stride which I did not want to do but running near the only shop in the area was busier than I expected. I chose Sunday expecting peace and quiet. I am glad I chose to do this on a run with walk breaks.

I will be back on familiar territory for the next one

That run can feel different going back to the walk breaks but you smashed it well done

It felt very different as I was running in an area I had only run in once before and I detoured into a road I had never been in before which I think pushed my heart rate up a little because I was thinking which road a lot whereas usually I run on the same stretch of road so I don't have to think. I definitely needed the walk breaks, if only to find the main road again.

I love running in different places and thinking, shall I take the next turning or carry on? then my mind starts mapping out different routes

I would agree if I wasn't on a specific run, in this case week 6 Run 1, but on a generic run fine but I still remember on one run running down an alley way past a school which was in a dip so a steep climb up. No one deserves that on a gentle jog.

Hey well done - even with the obstacles

It was a good run to play around with due to the walk breaks but from now on I am going to stick with my familiar stretch as thinking about which roads to take while running is tiring.
