Arthritis and pain

I have ‘mild arthritis’ but get pain walking around the block now.

I tried C25K in the past and got to week 3 or 4 before

I’m in a vicious cycle where it hurts to run but I need to move in order to lose (5stones) weight at 5’1”.

I’m speaking to physios tomorrow but asking if anyone is in the same boat and what they do or did

Welcome to the forum.

There is a link in the guide to the Active 10 walking programme, which might be a better place to start.

C25K will not make you lose much weight without addressing diet also, but it will make you fitter.

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Hi Lucy! I have mild arthritis and a lot of weight to loose (I’ve lost 2 stone with another 5 to go). I see a physiotherapist every now and then to make sure I am stretching properly and not over doing it. It is also important to get professional advice that is tailored to you. I’ve graduated so it is possible! Good luck 😊
