I know I am carrying a lot of additional weight being only 5ft 9 and 16 and a half stone but I really struggled.
About half way through I skipped one of the runs as felt like my legs would give way, however, I am still proud of myself for doing this.
My activity levels before this were shocking and I know once I have built a little bit of stamina it will get better.
I am thinking of repeating this first week next week just so I can see if I can manage better. What do people think?
Not sure if I mentioned before but I am raising money for BHF and set a target of £150 and currently sat at £180. If nothing else this is my motivation as people have invested and want to see me succeed.
I will continue, I will not let this beat me. We all need to start from somewhere.
Anyone with a similar experience to me able to make suggestions of how to progress please let me know.
Will update on Friday for run 3.
Bye for now

I’d just repeat today’s run on Friday and carry on from there- but there are others much more qualified that will give you good advice. The best advice I was given was to slow my pace down. It may not feel like it yet, but each week, you’ll be amazed by your progress
Make sure you are going slow enough to speak aloud, clear ungasping sentences as you go......if you cannot, you are going too fast, as mentioned in the guide to the plan.
Make sure you are well rested before each session and well hydrated, 2-3 litres per day.
Stretch after every session while muscles are still warm and supple, which pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan. It will help avoid aches at the early stage.
Make sure that you fully complete each session before trying to move on.
Thanks for the advice. I will definitely take that on board going forward as I think it will help.I do feel like I am trying to go too fast and know I need to do what's best for me.
It really doesn't matter if you can walk faster. The running action will build your stamina and that it is done most effectively at an easy conversational pace.
Hi lovely. I was in the same boat I started at 16 5 and I'm 5 ft 4. That was 6 weeks ago my next run is wk 6 run 2. I am now 15 5 and a dress size smaller tou cam do this xxx
Do as the administrator says is my advice! They know what they are talking about and this plan works, don’t think too much about the run ahead and just enjoy the scenery and music if you have any and it will work And you will be a runner if you stick to it.
Just wanted to add my support. You can do this. I stayed on week 3 for ages partly due to being poorly which affected my breathing. I only missed one session but the next ones were just awful. On wednesday i bit the bullet and went onto week 4 and smashed it. Also I should add that I'm carrying alot of extra weight and pushing 50. Just keep going. It will get easier and you will learn to love it. Good luck x
