Picked up a little niggle in my left knee today, probably just using muscles I'm not used to using. 2 rest days now though to take it easy. I used my fitness smartwatch today and found im only doing 3k by the end of the session, anybody else noticed this, am I too slow 😆

You run at your own, comfortable conversational pace. It is your run and we want you to enjoy it:) These are walk/runs at this stage and the distance covered really doesn't matter.

Knee exercise may help...head across the the S and F forum and take a peek.

I an repeating C25K yet again after a blip in October... I did Week 3 Run 1 yesterday... and not counting my warm up five minutes and my five minutes cool down, I covered exactly 2.5 K in 20 minutes:)

So please, do try to focus on the runs, not on speed or distance. The ore you run, the ore it evolves; you are doing wonderfully and you will reach that podium on nine weeks having had fun and staying injury free :)

I do know exactly how you may feel. In 2019 I did my first HM , last year's was cancelled, and now I am back at square 1...BUT... I do know I will get back where I wish to be, by taking it gently, enjoying and keeping true to my mantra ( for which I am famous, infamous? on this forum), slow and steady!

As Confucius said " It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop."

There’s no such thing as too slow. I’ve been running a while now, and many of my training runs for my races happen at a pace similar to what you’re doing. Some are slower. Slow runs at a pace you could sustain for twice the time or indefinitely are very good for you. There’s nothing whatsoever wrong with your pace but if I were to make a recommendation it would be ‘slow down’ rather than ‘speed up’ every time. Oddly, in the long term you will improve your speed (on the occasional run which you are doing with a speed target) more by doing lots of slow runs than by pushing yourself all the time.
