It's a start!

Morning All. I have decided to take the plunge and get fit. Signed up and have completed the 1st two runs of week one, onwards and upwards. I have also signed up to the virtual London marathon on the 3rd October. So I have 32 weeks for couch ..... rather overstuffed... to marathon. It's going to be a momentous year.

Welcome and well done for beginning this... slow and steady is my mantra.... and essential reading for you if you have not already done so, is right here...

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Lots of useful links in the pinned posts too.

We are all, wonderfully very different and our capabilities also, but it is a very long way from 5 K to full Marathon...

Many of us would take (and have taken), the 9 Week 5K runs then consolidation, then 10 weeks or so to 10K and then 12 weeks to Half Marathon level....so... my advice would be to move on and see how it all goes. Better to stay injury free and simply, enjoy the running:)

Thankyou for your reply. I agree it's a big ask but nothing ventured nothing gained! I will read all the information you have suggested. I think this group could be the most useful thing I have done.... after lacing up the trainers.

Completely welcome. All the forums are so supportive, and our remit in the Admin team is to keep all our runners safe, injury free and happy :) Especially here on Couch where we have so much in mixed ability :)We don't always manage it though :)

We have C25K, Bridge to 10K and then Marathon and Half Marathon forums.... all really supportive and soooooo friendly!

Our Strength and Flex forum is an absolutely essential part of all our running, as it keeps every bit of our running body and our minds fit and healthy!

Keep posting your runs your successes and your setbacks and expect loads of support en route:)
