Recovery Run

I had my vaccine on Friday. Ran a 5K on Sunday after a sore arm and a bit of tiredness on Saturday. Rest day Monday then Tuesday WHAM. I felt like I had flu like symptoms. Better but a bit tired on Wednesday. I tried a run today. 4.5K but REALLY slow - my slowest run. I guess I was probably not 100%. But definitely better than NIL Km. AND best of all - no aches or soreness. Slow adn steady wins out.

55 minutes on Saturday - hope to be a tad faster!

Well done! I had my vaccination yesterday, and was concerned that any systemic symptoms may take a few days to kick in...so I went straight out and ran my 9km 🙄

Still feeling ok today...just a little tired, but I usually do after a long run.

I would say don’t worry about speed on these longer runs...the slower you are, the further you go! To give you an idea, I ran 6km for my 60 minute run.

Good luck for Saturday 👍

Hey Ren, glad to hear you got the vaccine but sorry to hear it made you feel rough. Hope you feel better soon. Let's hope it's worth it.... it's got to be, right? One day we will all be able to go places once again.

I'm a good one to say this, but take rest if needed. I almost had to strap myself to my couch yesterday, but I stayed in yesterday due to a headache of 2 days. Do hope to go out today, though the headache is still nagging. No Covid headache, but a neck-issue headache. So I know it is hard not to run, but your health is important. You won't lose any fitness from not running a few days.

Was this your first vaccine? I have heard different things about the vaccine. Some people who feel nothing afterwards, others who feel quiet sick. Here in Belgium it's going very slow, I'm hoping that I can go earlier being a risk patiënt, otherwise it might only be in August or so. Always have a painful arm after a flu shot or pneumonia shot, so curious as to how I will react.

Well done Rennur for sticking with it. I had my vaccine Sunday and delayed run 1 of Wk4 until Tuesday as I woke up with a banging headache and feeling nauseous on Monday. My arm was very red and sore too with a big lump but I'm feeling right as rain now and back on it. Relieved I've had the vaccine and hopefully will be able to enjoy running all over the place once we're set free!
