First week done

Hi everyone, I’ve just finished my first week of the C25K. Amazed is an understatement.

First run I made the rookie error of going out way too fast, couldn’t even run for 1 minute 😞 so I just walked briskly instead.. felt really bad about it as I thought I would do better.

Second run this week was a little better, I slowed down and was able to complete 3 out of the 8 60second runs.

Now today... not sure what happened but I managed all of the 8 60second runs. Something felt different - not sure exactly what yet, but I felt more positive and listened to different music - could that be it? Seems a big jump in progress in a couple of days.

Anyway, my question is... should I complete wk1 again until I’m confident I can do the 60second runs consistently or should I just crack on with wk2 and hope for the best?

Cheers.

I clearly have much to learn about how to jog and not run! Helpful links though, Thank You!

Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

Definitely make sure that you fully complete each week's workouts before moving on. It is a training plan, not a checklist exercise. So, make sure you have done the W1 session fully, three times.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.
