Standing tall does help

Today I was really trying to remember to look up and pull my shoulders back and keep straight, more straight then my usual slightly rounded posture. We know a lot of this process is "in the mind" but I do think even this small effort made my breathing easier. Also keeping my eyes nearer the top of trees or buildings. Thanks for the tip. Well done you! 👏👏👏In days of normal I sing in a choir. Our choir teacher tells us to hold our heads up and pretend we're showing off our best pair of drop diamond earrings. It works for running too!

Posture definitely makes a difference, a straighter posture being more beneficial to your breathing than a rounded one. All part of the learning process and what works best for you. Well done on completing W9R1 coolfemme....only 2 more left before you graduate 👍🏃‍♀️

Ah definitely, you are spot on! I've been told to imagine a helium balloon fastened to the top of my head, that helps too. And to try and keep core muscles engaged, which takes some of the strain off the legs. (I keep forgetting this one, and have to run a mental check every so often - balloon, shoulders back and down, tummy in, neutral spine)Congratulations, you're nearly there!

grumpyoldgirl Reminds me of learning to drive, so many details that eventually become second nature. Core engaged will be interesting 😜

I shall definitely try to think about that tomorrow morning when I run... thanks for the reminder 😊 it’s pretty cold and snowy here so it’s all about dodging the icy pavements 😬Well done you, only 2 more to go until graduation 👍👏
