Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Good luck, and remember to enjoy every run 👍

It surprising how far a little encouragement goes towards helping nudge someone out of the door T-girl. The forums are a great big friendly place with loads of advice and plenty of those when needed nudges 🙂, alongside the Admin Team your in great hands for going all the way to week 9 run 3 💪

Good time to start T-girl. Cold, wet and muddy...get all of the tough stuff out of the way now and then think how transformative Spring weather will be. By then you will running confidently. You will find some great tips here, the chief of which is to go really slowly to start with.....but in the end, it is as simple as just putting one foot in front of the other and keep going! 🙂

Hey Beachcomber66, thanks for your words of encouragement.... made me chuckle! Alas yes, I experience the mud yesterday and how it slows you down! but filled me with a wonderful feeling of playfulness that I've not experienced for years! How long have you been at it?!! Happy new year!

May 2018 was my first run, aged 66. It is fair to say that I have surprised myself; you never know what you can achieve.👍
