Are any forum members signed up for this event? Starts at 10 am today and the aim is for all participants collectively to run a total of 24,901 miles in 50 hours. All in aid of Prostate Cancer UK in conjunction with a facilitator called Ultra X.
Kevin Webber is a friend who was diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer 6 years ago and took up running for his health and mental well-being. He has raised a huge amount of money for the charity and is the ‘Kev’ in the title of the event. It costs £5 to enter and the entry fee goes to the charity.
There are now 900 participants and it’d be great to swell the numbers more if anyone is going to be running anyway. The link is given below.
Update - I did my bit today and did my longest run to date - 7.5k and it was thinking of Kevin that kept me going. To be honest - I feel like I could have carried on but I didn’t want to risk overdoing it and compromising my contribution tomorrow and on 1 Jan.
Please participate if you are intending to walk, jog, run or cycle today. I know that the £5 entry fee may be off putting to some but it all goes to Prostate Cancer UK. The more people that participate the more likely we are to reach the goal AND as an added bonus to raise funds for this worthy charity. 😊😊
