Welcome to the forum and well done on your progress. You may find it helpful to follow the link in the guide below to the post about mental approach.

Just slow down and you are in control.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

Our running group repeated Week 1 five times before moving to week two. Although most of us had been ready to move on, it was finally only one person that was still unsure. We went for it on the basis that if we could not do it we would all go back to week one again. We had vowed to all keep together. We took that philosophy forward for the following weeks and no mater how hard they looked we were going to give it a go. If one of us was to fail, we were all going to go back until were were all confident to proceed. As it turned out, we did not need to. Once we had a go, it may have been hard but we managed it.

So my advice would be give it a go, you have nothing to lose, you can always go back to week 4 if you feel you need to, there is no shame in that.

Week 5 is no harder than Week 4. In fact it might be easier.
