Wk 7 Run 2

I felt I struggled today, head just wasn’t in it. I couldn’t find my pace and calves niggled more than usual. Maybe due to lack of sleep but really needed to push myself to do it. But I did and feel so much better for not quitting 💪🏻

Happy Running 🏃🏼‍♀️

Well done you did it.

Everything going on in our lives can impact on our performance as a runner. Restedness, hydration and nutrition are at the top of my list of variables that need to be optimised to enable enjoyable running.

Stretching immediately after every run, nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/h... while muscles are still warm and supple, pulls out contractions, avoiding carrying tensions into the next run and also improves recovery by improving blood flow, as recommended in the guide to the plan.

Many people do not hold their stretches for long enough or put enough effort in. Hold post run stretches for 30 seconds and make sure the pull is strong enough to be on the verge of discomfort.

Thanks for the advice IannodaTruffe, I always have a large glass of water before I venture out and take some with me just in case I need it. I may need to build in some pre run stretches/exercises to see if that helps my performance with these longer runs. 🙂

Hydration the day before your run is as important as what you drink immediately before a run healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Well done for keeping going, you do feel better for it. There are days when we struggle but you kept going so that's awesome. You are doing so well.👍👍🌈

Thanks Alicia, its the first time in a while that I felt like I could just quit. But had to convince myself it will be worth the effort to continue Gail x

It certainly will Gail. Exercise is so good for the body and brain, I'd be lost without it. I've bot been able to exercise for over a week now and it's driving me nuts.

Keep on going, you'll never want to stop soon.

Alicia 🏃‍♀️👟 😊🌈 xx
