I finally took the plunge!

Having downloaded the app TWO YEARS AGO, but been too nervous to try it and been a lurker on here for a year and a half, I finally did W1 R1. I want to thank you for all the advice you guys have given on here about going slow and remembering to breathe and enjoy and do you know what...it was OK! Slight knee niggle but for a middle aged bird who hasn't run for over a decade, with a big appetite for the finer things in life, I made it through all the runs and didn't die. 'Booked in' my next run for Friday (more good advice) so fingers crossed I can stick with it. This newbie is excited...

Well done for starting and enjoy the journey !

Do remember to do the dynamic warm up excercises before running and the after run stretches when you finish 👍

Keep hold of that excitement, it's a nice bonus to get you through the whole C25k adventure 👍

Nooooooo get yourself some lightweight gloves, a snood or buff you'll like the cold it's your running friend and better than overheating 🥵

Welcome to the forum and well done

on getting started.

This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

and includes advice on minimising impact, stretching after every run, hydration and strengthening exercises, all of which will help.

Enjoy your journey.

I had the app on my phone for about two years before the lockdown prompted me to actually get out there and give it a go.
