A very wet penultimate run

As I was getting dressed to go out to run this morning my partner asked if I had seen the weather to which I just smiled and said smugly, “we go out running whatever the weather.” He just rolled his eyes...😂😂

Decided not to venture too far away I headed towards the local park in the rain whilst inwardly debating whether I should just go back home to bed. Had to take off my glasses off as I couldn’t see a thing with the raindrops on them. I had the park all to myself and just kept on looping round keeping the pace steady. With my 5 min warm up walk I hit 4.9k, I’m so pleased to be well on the way to achieving 5k. I even had to do a sprint after my warm down walk as the rain seemed to be getting heavier.

By the time I got home , my feet were the driest part of me, thanks to the Gore tex running shoes I’d decided to purchase. Guess I really need to invest in some waterproof clothing, what are you other ladies wearing to run in the rain?

So my graduation run should be on Sunday 😂😂😂...I can’t wait.

That's awesome! I was surprised how much I like running in the rain - as long as I put my contact lenses in! I've been wondering about whether to get waterproof stuff but so far it's worked just having a nice towel by the door when I get home!

You're braver than me!! I was up early as I'd planned on going for my next run but I decided to postpone it until later today when the wind is *supposedly* meant to have died down a little...

Congrats on getting this run done though and good luck for your graduation run at the weekend, I'm sure you'll ace it!

My shoes are definitely not waterproof. However, with the right socks you get a sort of "wetsuit effect" as the trapped water warms up. Cotton mixes are out as they are hydrophilic and hold on to water.
