Running after a massage

So I finally managed to use my Mother’s Day present last night from my 2 boys - a full body massage. It was wonderful and I slept like a baby.

Got up this morning Wk9 R1 [the final countdown ☺️] and I honestly felt like a pantomime horse. My top half didn’t seem to be connecting with my bottom half.

That said, I ran the best distance so far but I had to really really dig deep and grit my teeth.

Do you think last nights massage had anything to do with it?

Possibly! Were you like a rag doll this morning?

Yep! Although I drank more than 2 litres of water during the day, I wonder if I was a little dehydrated this morning? To be honest It didn’t affect my time/distance (I am still following the programme but I am continuing on to do 5km each time. Which I did in 36mins). But boy it was harder this morning!

I suspect you needed more of a warm up before your body could get out of that deeply relaxed state. You'll probably be back to normal by the next time you run. 👍
