So for the start of this new week I thought Iโd not only run a different route but change up the music! I chose the soundtrack to The Jersey Boys which I love, thinking just maybe, if I could still breathe, Iโd be able to sing along! All was going well and my pony tail was swinging along just like Burkey46 ๐ as Jo announced the start of the second 5 minute run, unfortunately just as the road started going uphill. Oh no, I thought, but thankfully Frankie Valli started singing to me that Big Girls Donโt Cry ๐ so onwards and upwards I went. The road levelled out for the next walk and for the last 5 minute run my fav. track Who Loves You was playing and incredibly I was able to push on a bit and sing along too. I was soooo pleased with myself that Iโd managed R1 pretty well I thought, for me. Then to top it off, as if it was meant to be, with The Jersey Boys having finished, for the final walk it was Neil Diamondโs turn and Sweet Caroline started ringing in my ears ๐
Bring on R2 on Friday ๐ช I canโt believe Iโm saying this but Iโm actually looking forward to it. I love music and personally couldnโt do this without it, but also couldnโt do it without the help and advice from reading the posts on here ๐
Keep going everyone ๐โโ๏ธ๐ and keep posting!!

I really think itโs the music that gets me through it also ! I couldnโt not manage without my sing along !! Well done tho and get some older bon Jovi tracks on your playlist !! Living on a prayer ๐๐ผ x
Oh, of course! I hadnโt spotted that connection! Iโm an Ali and have Come On Eileen on my list because my family have always sang it Come On Ali ๐ฌ
Good idea, anything you think might help! I still find it hard to think that Iโm actually running as it seems more of a gentle jog but donโt know many songs with โjogโ in them ๐ maybe โrunโ would speed me up!!
You probably will overtake me if you run every other day, I donโt usually run at the weekend as have 2 days off then so will be W5R2 for me tomorrow then the 20 min one ๐ฌ on Monday. Iโm planning on reducing the Sunday wine ๐ทintake and drinking even more water, if thatโs possible. Canโt believe how seriously Iโm taking all this ๐
Good luck this evening, let us know how it goes ๐โโ๏ธ
I think the music is so important, I started with a very long play list but have now made it much shorter but with my most favourite tracks for running. To me the beat is so important they are mostly fast songs and it is amazing how they can lift you.
Yes, I agree with you about the beat and the songs I have must be happy and uplifting. I love dance music too so find myself shimmying along which is a strange sight for anyone passing ๐ and am usually singing too, if I can breathe sufficiently well ๐
Iโve been using random playlists and it definitely changes my pace and overall time/km
