Due to the Great North Run being postponed and deferring my place to 2021 there is a new initiative GNR Solo which I've signed up for which is 40 runs any distance ( 1 run for each year of the GNR) between tomorrow 28th June and the actual date of the GNR 13th September. This is 78 days. I am on Consolidation Run 12 today and whilst I have been trying to run every other day I don't always manage this. In order to complete the 40 runs within the timescale I will need to either run every other day OR am wondering if I can do 2 smaller runs on a run day. Is this advisable during the consolidation phase do you think? Am thinking maybe 2 x 15 minute runs approx. I mile each ( my pace and time at the moment is around 2 miles taking 30 minutes) . I know the importance of not over running at this stage and won't run each day as I know its essential to have a rest day.
Thoughts please...?

If you use the 10% rule healthunlocked.com/couchto5.... to keep your weekly increase down to a sensible amount then you should be okay, but unless you have a good six months of regular running on your legs and have done extra strengthening then it would be inadvisable to run on consecutive days, as you are aware.
Your body will not know the difference between one longer run or two shorter ones on the same day, so long as you maintain hydration levels.
