Week 5, Run 2

Hi all,

I seem to have hit a bit of a wall on week 5, run 2! This is 8 mins run, 5 mins walk, 8 mins run. I am really struggling on the second 8 mins. I repeated the run today but only managed 7 of the second 8 mins so will be repeating again.

Did anyone else find this one particularly tough?!

Hi there -I managed this one but am struggling with Week5, Run 3 -I'm determined to not beat myself up about it and will keep repeating and repeating until I manage it. Don't be downhearted - just pick yourself up ,dust yourself down, and start all over again!

Hi there.

Firstly, I want to say that you can do it... the app has brought you to this stage and built you for being able to do it, so you can. Believe it.

My suggestion is to shorten your stride. It takes less energy, breathing is more stable and you just have to ignore the aching muscles in your legs.

Next time you go out, you will do it!! I know you will!

Hi Weenie92. It’s not a wall, it’s a moveable barrier on wheels ....and you only need to wheel it another minute further away and you’ll smash through it. To quote Simon and Garfunkel “Slow down, you’re moving too fast....” I did W5R2 today. It wasn’t easy but if I can do it (very slowly!) you definitely can. You got this ( As long as you don’t go too fast) x

Thank you for the tip. Well done on doing it! I run pretty slow too actually 😊. I will give it another go tomorrow. Fingers crossed x

I found that one really tough... I think the 5 minute walk did for me, it felt just awful starting up again, and a battle to get to the end of it... that said, it’s my favourite week of the plan.

Currently revisiting C25K and due to do W5R2 tomorrow... I’m planning to keep the pace up in the walk.

Stick with it Weenie92, you were only a minute short of the second 8 min run, so I’m sure you can conquer it, keep saying to yourself ‘Don’t quit when your tired, quit when you’re done’ 👊 you’ve got this 🏃‍♀️💨
