Another week, another stumbling block. Having being stopped three times due to illness since I began this back in March, 10 days ago I suffered spinal pain which put me out of action again.
Each day that went past made me more and more anxious that my progress was being undone. I had been on a roll prior and was exciting to start Week 4.
Yesterday I managed to finally get back out there. I didn't want to shock my body into going into Week 4, not being able to do it and then feeling defeatest so I decided to repeat Week 3. It was definitely challenging come the end but it felt good to know I hadn't been set back too far. I figured if I just repeat Week 3 then it will get me back to where I was.
Does anybody else suffer setbacks like this and is there any advice on mentally overcoming the disappointment? I am trying to remember that every run done is progress no matter what.

Hello! Sounds like you’ve been through alot and made it! So that says you’re strong.
I had some mishaps during this programme and said to myself that the main thing is I’m doing this because I want to during this strange time. Not because I’m in a race.
I’d say its best to think of each run as success in its own right because you started it - and even if you don’t manage it, its still progress.
There is nothing wrong with slow and steady. So keep going, one run at a time until you are ready for the next run. This is your time and your programme.
It really sounds like you already have this nailed!! 😀.
Every run you do is progress, if you are not satisfied with any runs you can repeat it until you are satisfied then go on to the next run or week. Sorry about your spinal pain, don't run when that happens but NEVER feel defeatest, yes some people do have setbacks but they like you will eventually get to week 9, run 3 and 🎓 graduate, 🏃🏾 good luck. 👍
Thank you for this, grateful. I think it’s that psychological battle that if you’re not progressing up the weeks you feel like you’ve failed. Good to see each run as progress. Appreciate it!
