Well I was enthusiastic about starting W6 as W5 went far better than I could have hoped for. Ten mins in and I was a mess. I toyed with the idea that I should have had a two day rest between finishing W5 and starting W6 as I have an ankle issue and despite loads of stretches and massaging, my hamstrings and calves were like piano wire they were so taut. But I was on a high and couldn’t wait another day! Well I’m pleased that I finished the run but I’m amazed that I finished it too. Every fibre of my being was screaming at me to stop but I got through it, got home, stretched out and am now relaxing in the bath. Two day rest for me now to let my stiff legs relax and get back to some sort of normality! I won’t be beaten, that’s for sure!

After the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 some people find run 1 of week 6 hard as you have just found out, I think it's to do with running 20 minutes and then back to interval walks and runs in week 6, take run 2 of week 6 slowly, after that all the runs have no more walking breaks.

Well done. Laura says endurance is more important than speed. So if needed, slow down even further when needed.
Ek6run1 I found hard but well done forward and onward 😊
